So this is our day tomorrow 29/12/2011:

We are currently sitting in a rented flat in Penge (thank you Airbnb), watching Top Gear, and trying to schedule our tomorrow.  We will be waiting around for complementary tickets to Liverpool v Newcastle (thank you Charlie and thank you Kris at XL)... and then catching a train to Wembley for a stadium tour (thank you Katie).  And if we are ultra lucky we will be getting a Michael Jackson mini-tour of Craven Cottage.  Being a Fulham fan -- this could be the perfect end to a wonderful day.

In retrospect it is obvious to both Shawn and I that our luck turned as soon as we found a local pub - The Moon and Stars - and had a pint.  First stop we covered Rudder's Best and Abbott.  I took Shawn's Abbott because it tasted more like 'Hen and he took my Rudder's because it had a stronger bitter aftertaste.  And first fish & chips in London -- done.  And delicious.  Plenty of malt vinegar all over my portion.  Our next stop was - Pawleyne Arms...good price and a nice barkeep.  We had John Smith's Extra Smooth in the comfy pub that felt more like a coffee shop, meant for sitting back at small tables talking to friends.

This all came as a refreshing calm after I had forgot a piece of our luggage three floors up from the Heathrow Express train -- no worries it was still there when we went back -- and then I failed to have any sufficient memory on how the owner of the flat we are renting told us how to actually get to the flat.  I remembered one street name.  But we made it.  All is well.  After some food and beer... a lovely email that said we got Liverpool tickets...complements of a cousin's boyfriend's connections and some kind folks at XL Travel.  It's all in the name of soccer.    Cheers.

Our schedule so far?  Thursday = Wembley and Craven Cottage.  Friday = Liverpool v Newcastle.  Saturday = Brentford v MK Dons. Sunday = West Brom v Everton.  Monday = Fulham v Arsenal.   Yea you can hate us.  But we guaranteed good pics and stories ;)
