Anticipation excitement disappointment. Game 2 Brentford vs MK Dons

This new years eve we get the oportunity to see the MK Dons. Being a fan of the dons is hard especially in the US. There is no way to follow the team except by gamecast, push notifications, and web postings. Needless to say I was very excited when I saw someone else wearing  a Dons jersey at the train station heading to Griffin Park in Brentford.

We headed out well before kick off to take advantage of one of the four pubs located at each corner of the stadium. After walking halfway around we found the away supporters pub The New Inn:

We headed in a grabbed two pints I had the The take Courage and Beth enjoyed the Doombar.

We then headed outside to watch the end of the Blackburn match in the garden. I say that instead of ManU because that was the team that decided to show up that day.

After the match we headed out to the visitors gate with the other dons fans. This was going to be a special day griffin park in one of the only sadiums left that still had standing only sections watching my team for the first time.

Once inside we settled in with the other 420 Dons fans.  And things were off to a great start. Great songs and good goals within the first few minutes kept the mood electric.

A third goal before half added to the euphoria as we embraced our short heritage with chants like.

We're franchise scum,

Who gives a f*ck,

We're MK Dons,
And we're going up..

But half time saw the momentum flip and Brentford eventually found an equalizer in the final minutes. A tragic end to an otherwise beautiful day.
